Madeline Van Brunt, creator of Chateau de Faux, has an extensive background working with colors and textures. Madeline has transitioned from a career in clothing design, where color and texture was applied to textiles and fashion design -- to today, where she applies her skill and talent in color and texture, to walls, furniture and accessories.
Madeline has formal training in the decorative arts from the Day Studio and the Gale Laurence Studio. Both of these schools teach the techniques perfected by America’s premier school of faux and fantasy finishes, the Isabel O’Neil Studio Workshop.
Madeline is commissioned by interior designers, homeowners and wholesale furniture showrooms. In 1997, she won a national award from Home Magazine and Benjamin Moore Paints in the contest entitled “Paint a Great First Impression.” Madeline’s work provided to interior designers at Decorator Showcases has also won awards.
The range of decorative finishes is endless and this site showcases only a few. Chateau de Faux can create an infinite number of finishes using a multitude of techniques. Decorative finishes in most cases can be applied to any surface. |
